Social Responsibility: Uhunmwode SBMC commend group

The School Base Management Committee (SBMC) in Uhunmwode local government area has charged groups in Edo to emulate Uhunmwode chapter of NBM of Africa to support the development of education in the state.

Advisory chairman of SBMC in the local government, Comrade Ohenhen Johnson gave the charge on Tuesday during the chapter”s flag off of distribution of free educational and COVID-19 preventive materials at Uwa Model Demonstration Primary School, in Ikhuenhiro community.

Ohenhen who appealed for extension of the exercise to other schools in Uhunmwode, expressed appreciation to NBM of Africa for reaching out to schools at the grassroots.

According to him, “we will also want you people to do so to other schools in Uhunmwode, especially those schools that are in need of support.”

Responding, spokesperson of Uhunmwode chapter, Osaheni Onaiwu informed the SBMC chairman of arrangement to reach out to more than 90 schools in the local government.

Onaiwu assured the chairman of the group’s support to boost learning in schools under it area of influence in Uhunmwode and parts of Ikpoba okha local government.

Recall the chapter of the pan African group kicked off distribution of items to secondary and primary schools under it jurisdiction.

Item distributed included writing materials, facemasks, hand sanitizers, waste baskets, wash hand basins, buckets and other toiletries.

They are expected to be at Iguomon primary and secondary schools respectively next week in continuation of the distribution exercise.
